Three Feathers Hand Painted Side Chair C.1890.

Description

An extraordinary late 19th.c. mahogany framed side chair c.1890 with fabulous original hand painted trompe l’oeil backrest. Featuring three large and beautifully painted feathers, an oval cameo, floral swags and garlands which continue down the front legs. In original unrestored condition, solid and sturdy with remnants of the original silk damask upholstery.

Dimensions: width 32", depth 19", height 38".

Year: c.1890.
