Fine 19th Century Cheval Dressing Mirror

An absolute top-of-the-range example of a Regency mahogany cheval in superb original condition. The well-turned column uprights – surmounted by intricately-turned finials – are united by three stretchers and are supported by elegant downswept legs terminating in gilt-brass capped castors. It retains its original thumbscrews to adjust the tilting position, its original mercury glass plate in superb condition, and a four-panel backing board. Original finish throughout with a sublime colour and a rich glowing patina. This beautiful Georgian cheval mirror is English, c.1820, and is the finest we''ve seen in years.
