Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
They have reeded backs with out-swept reeded arms and delightfully turned upright supports with moulded edges. They stand on turned front legs, splayed back legs and the seats have recently been upholstered in a Regency design green stripe fabric. The walnut is a lovely warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
