This is a very good quality antique Victorian mahogany and leather revolving captains’ office armchair (circa 1860 - 1890). The armchair has been newly upholstered in a stunning quality green distressed leather. The leather upholstery is finished with brass studwork around the perimeter. The seat, which is stuffed and is sprung, is very comfortable. The leather padded roll back is connected to the scroll end upholstered arms. The design is quite unique with the back featuring a shaped central splat. The chair features “s” shaped mahogany arms, which connect to the very comfortable horsehair and sprung leather seat. The seat is connected to the base by four sturdy umbrella shaped legs, which terminate on their original mug castors. The chair revolves 360 degrees and does not tilt.
