Based on a classical ancient Greek design 'Klismos' chair, popularised by the drawings of the artefacts and architecture of the ancient classical civilisations by the likes of Charles Heathcote-Tatham and the designs of Thomas Hope and Thomas King. A wonderful quality mahogany frame with swept open arms and carved motif detail and reeded channel carving, standing on turned legs. Rich colour timber with original polish and patina. Loose squab seat can be supplied to clients specification. W(arm to arm) 23" x Depth of seat 18" x H (of seat)15" x H (of back)35". England c. 1820
