Pair of Masonic Throne Chairs C.1894.

Description

Massive pair of late 19th.c. Masonic throne style oak armchairs by the London cabinet makers Kenning c.1894. Standing over 5' tall with carved triangular pediment supported on turned and fluted columns with carved corinthian capitals and named for Sincerity Lodge no.428. together with the Mason’s square and compass badge. Acanthus leaf detail to the arms and turned front legs. Each chair carries a silver plaque with presentation inscription dated April 1894. In very good, unrestored condition with later upholstery.

Sincerity Lodge was formed in the Cheshire town of Northwich in 1835.

Dimensions: width 25", depth 29", height 61".
