Here is a most charming Victorian rocking-chair, made of mahogany, with the original black weaved horse-hair covering, over a horse-hair stuffed seat and button back.
This adorable childs chair has a pretty scroll shaped frame.
All joints on the chair are very secure and solid, and the wood has a lovely characterful patina, with the usual and desirable signs of age and use.
The horse-hair covering shows signs of use, with a split to the left side and major loss to the back. This is shown in the pictures. The chair horse-hair covering could be restored, or left as is, with all its charming character.
