Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1910s.
They have beautifully designed shell shaped backs with pierced back splats. The drop in seats have been covered in a tapestry fabric with floral design. The chairs stand on splayed back legs and cabriole front legs having a shell design to the hip and rest on ball and claw feet. The mahogany is a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
