Set of 4 Regency Mahogany Dining Chairs

Description

Circa 1815, set of 4 Regency mahogany dining chairs. The chairs have large splat at the top which is inlaid in rosewood. Beneath this is a wonderful vase which is carved with classic urns, small foliate on the top and sweeping edges. This is held in position by a curved rail with similar ends. Below this is a drop in pad upholstered in horse hair. The pad is almost flush with side rails, which are ribbed. This ribbing continues up the top of the chair where it tapers, and comes down into the sabre legs at the front. The back legs are outswept. Lovely colour and excellent condition.
