Pair of Edwardian, Chippendale Style, Mahogany Antique Carver Armchairs

This pair of Edwardian mahogany antique carver armchairs are in the Chippendale style and date from around 1910. They have beautifully designed shell shaped backs with pierced back splats. The shaped scrolled arms flank the drop in seats which have been covered in a tapestry fabric with floral design. The chairs stand on splayed back legs and cabriole front legs having a shell design to the hip and resting on ball and claw feet. The mahogany is a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
