Description

A pair of 19thC pier mirrors with rope and knot decorated top crest, base and plate surround. These are unusual in design and are the first of this shape I have acquired in 20 years. They are a combination of original gilt and gilt paint finish with some restoration to the gesso crests and bases. The backs are original with original brass hanging loops. one mirror glass is original mercury glass with a grey faded patch to the top right the other has a replaced mirror plate although this is not immediately apparent.

They measure 88cms high overall by 33 wide and the exposed mirror plate is approx 58.5 cms high by 23 wide.
