Set of 8 early C19th Regency period mahogany dining chairs. Comprising 6 single chairs and 2 carver armchairs. Superb quality set of chairs of generous proportions, with boldly carved top-rails with sun-flower head paterae, acanthus-leaf and gadroon detail and with raised centre-panel reserve, together with stylish leaf and paterae/draught carved splats. Top-grade dense timber with no breaks or damage. This completely 'fresh to the market' set of 8 dining chairs have been sourced locally from a 'time-capsule' property where they have stood for nearly 200 years. Great original condition, strong ,stable design and robust construction ,with elegant turned X-frame stretchers and well-defined turned legs on 'onion-shaped' ,or toupie , feet. Removable drop-in seats ,all with stamped numbered rails. Have been cleaned and waxed in our work-shops and seats pads can be re-upholstered to clients specification if required .
