This is a very good quality antique Victorian mahogany upholstered revolving office armchair (circa 1860 - 1890). The design is quite unique with a back featuring stunning gothic design arch fluted spindles. The armchair is upholstered in a figured raised floral velvet draylon; the upholstery is in excellent condition. The upholstered roll back is connected to the scroll end upholstered arms. The chair features “S” shaped mahogany arms, which connect to upholstered seat. The seat, which is stuffed with horsehair, is very comfortable. The upholstery is finished off with a green braiding. The seat is connected to the base by four sturdy umbrella shaped legs, which terminate on pad feet. The chair revolves 360 degrees and does not tilt. The chair is extremely comfortable and is very sturdy.
Condition Report:
The chair is in excellent condition. The arms are solid and show no signs of movement. This chair does not recline and the seat is fixed at a standard height and revolves 360 degrees. The upholstery is in excellent condition; there are not rips or damage to the fabric. . The seat upholstery is clean and is free from wear, tears and dirt. There are no breaks to the arms or legs either. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
We can have the chair re-upholstered for you in any colour leather you require. The chair is priced to sell with the view to having it re-upholstered. The labour cost to reupholster the chair in leather is £130. This excludes the leather material. We have a choice of leather upholstery you can choose from.
