Set of Six Victorian Mahogany Antique Dining Chairs.

Dating from around 1860 in the Victorian period this set of six dining chairs are constructed from mahogany in a style taken from the Georgian period. They are built to a simple but classic design with three bars to the back, each bar having a central carved motif. They stand on splayed back legs and tapering front legs with 'H' stretchers for that all important added stability. They look to have been recently upholstered in a mint shade of fabric with matching braid trim. This tidy set of chairs are a warm medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
