This is an original set and not matched together. The set consists of 6 side chairs. All chairs boast graduated wavy shaped back splats above hand woven rush seated seats. The base of the chairs feature turned legs and stretchers all round for strength (twin stretchers on the sides). The front stretcher is heavy and turned – a good sign of quality. All chairs are made from top quality ash & oak and are firm and solid. These chairs have originated from the Lancashire and Cheshire region of North west of England They were made for use for kitchens in country homes around this area during the time of the great mills in the Industrial Revolution.
This item would compliment any home, especially the kitchen or dining room, so don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent condition. The rush seating is original and most importantly, it is in excellent condition. There is an excellent colour / patination to the timber. All chairs are free of woodworm, solid in joint (not lose or wobbly) and ready to use. There are not breaks to the legs or backs of any of the chairs. This is an original set of chairs; they are not matched together.
