Quality Edwardian, Chippendale Style, Antique Walnut Carver Armchair.

This delightful antique walnut carver armchair is in the Chippendale design and dates from around 1900. It has a beautifully shaped pierced back with decorative carvings and two shaped arms. The chair stands on splayed back legs and cabriole front legs with shell carvings and ball and claw feet. The seat is upholstered in what appears to be the original leather with stud trim finish. The walnut has aged to a medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
