Set of Eight Antique Mahogany Chippendale Style Dining Chairs.

This beautiful set of eight antique mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs date from around 1910 in the Edwardian period. The set consists of two carvers and six stand chairs, they all have pierced back splats topped with a carved motif, the style very much reminiscent of that of Chippendale. They stand on splayed back legs and moulded front legs all connected by a 'H' stretcher for added stability. The drop in seats are currently covered in a dusty pink upholstery fabric which is 'good to go' however their design makes them easy to be recovered. Some of the chairs do have some old, and very minor, repairs as one might expect however they are all very sturdy and good for everyday use. The mahogany has aged to a lovely warm mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
