An Early 19thc Convex Wall Mirror

Description

An early 19thC convex wall mirror with eagle surmount. With its thin light mirror plate and brass wall fixing this lovely piece probably dates from the 1830's or possibly earlier. The finish is aged painted gilt over the remnants of the original gilded surface. Its eagle surmount and other applied mouldings are carved wood with gesso and are not 'heavy' in design. The back is original.

79 cms maximum in overall height.

46 cms maximum width.

The mirror frame is 45.5 cms in diameter.

The exposed mirror plate is 33 cms in diameter.
