This is a good quality set of four antique Victorian mahogany balloon back dining chairs, circa 1870 in original condition. The chairs boast drop in seats with the original stuffed horsehair seats. The seat top fabric is in need of re-covering. The chairs features “balloon” shaped backs. The bolts situated on the back legs can tighten the chairs. The front legs feature ring turned shaped front legs with splayed legs to the back. These types of chairs can be easily matched to other sets of dining chairs of this age (if you wanted to make a larger set). Overall, these chairs have a fantastic rich patination as they feature their original Victorian polish and they would grace any home.
Condition Report:
These chairs are structurally firm and are not lose. There are nominal scratches / scuffs to the wood and polish but nothing significant considering the age of these items. The chairs feature the original circa 150-year-old Victorian polish. The chairs feature their original horsehair upholstered drop in seats. The top covers on the seats are in need of re-covering. Please note that these seats could easily be recovered with new material if preferred. It costs around £15 per chair to cover each chair seat with a top fabric of your choice (this is the labour cost and it does not include the cost of material). These chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.

A 7-day “no quibble” return policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. You will be given a refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. The buyer is required to cover the cost of transit (the same as the delivery cost).
