Unusual Early Victorian Giltwood Overmantle Mirror

A fine and unusual Victorian giltwood overmantle mirror. The mirror is of a very different double dome top with a pinched waist and a spreading base. The carving is a repeated design of foliate shapes, terminating in a scroll base. The mirror retains the original gilding and the original mirror plate. The condition is very good, being untouched and direct from the country house. C.1840.
