Anglo Indian Slipper Chair

19th century
Description

A highly decorative 19thC Anglo Indian chair. Covered with well executed profusely carved decoration(mainly foliage birds and mythical dragons). This is either padouk wood or Indian rosewood.The original casters are English with brown porcelain wheels.The carving would suggest the chair is possibly Burmese.There are losses to the seat surround and a panel gap to the left hand side of the back panel. The back of the chair is carved and the sest back is topped with a finial on either side. The drop in seat is covered in old kelim fabric.

Overall the chair is 100 cms high to the top of the finials 48cms from knee to knee. The depth of the seat is 40 cms as is the back width and the height of the seat from the floor.
