Early Victorian Rosewood High Back Armchair with Tapestry Cover Circa Circa 1850

Description

This important Early Victorian Rosewood Open Armchair on cabriole legs dates from circa 1850.

The back, seat and arms are covered in, what appears to be, the original hand sewn tapestry. The outside back is covered in plain cloth.

Original brass castors.

The Chair was bought from an Estate Sale at Letheringsett Hall, Norfolk in the 1970s.

Dimensions:

Height: 49 inches (1.25m)

Width: 32 inches (81 cm)

Depth: 28 inches (71 cm)

Condition:

There are some signs of wear to the tapestry and its trimming as would be expected. It is still very serviceable.
