Here we have a wonderful Victorian Caistor Lincolnshire rocking chair made by John Shadford c1860. John Shadford was a chair maker and wood turner which is why these rare and prized chairs are so decorative. As you will see the chair has exceptional colour and patina. The wide fruit wood top rail sits above exquisitely turned spindles and side rails all made from super grainy solid Ash. The arms are a lovely shape and made from straight grain Elm. The side running grain fruit wood seat sits above a beautifully turned undertier with an H stretcher again made from beautiful grained Ash. The chairs sits on original rocking rails. A stunning comfortable and rare fireside chair from a famous and superb maker in fantastic retail condition.
