These chairs are sometimes known as 'cockfighting chairs' but I think this may be a myth and the only connection I can make is that they can be sat in facing the other way as the cockfighting chairs were. However this one is too pretty for that!
The chair measures 15 ins high at the top of the seat from the floor.
29 ins wide at the widest part of the arms.
The seating is strong and sound however the chair would probably benefit from a re-upholstery .
