Victorian Walnut Brass Bound Wreiting Slope

19th century
Description

A really top quality Victorian walnut writing box or slope nicely enhanced on the exterior with gothic style brass mounts ,however you have to unlock the bramah lock to really see the quality of this box , inside is fitted out with a corromandel pen and ink compartment housing the original gilt mounted inkwells together with super gilt mounted lidded trinket areas ,although well worn i have chosen to leave the original blue velvet gilt tooled slope lining which again rises to reveal further secret storage areas, a really great original piece of Victorian oppulance at its finest.

The condition is untouched for many years , there is a minor veneer chip top left and as pointed out the blue lining is split on the hinge as you might expect but overall its great !!
