The design was popular during the mid Georgian period in England designed by the famous cabinet maker, Thomas Chippendale. Thomas Chippendale (who lived between 1718 - 1779) is regarded as having been one of the "big three" English furniture makers of the 18th century, along with Thomas Sheraton and George Hepplewhite. Chippendale gave his name to a distinctive style of light and elegant furniture designs.
This is an original set and not matched. The set consists of two carver chairs with arm rests and six side chairs. The backs of the chairs feature a curved carved top rail, a carved dual ribbon shaped splats. The armchairs features shaped arms. The seats boast a square shaped design and hold red draylon upholstered drop in seats. The base of the chairs’ feature straight readed legs and stretchers all round for strength. All chairs are made from top quality mahogany and are firm and solid.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent condition and commensurate with the age of the chairs. All chairs are free of wood worm, solid in joint and are ready to use. The stuff over seats and top upholstery are clean and are in good condition. There are no breaks to the backs or legs. This is an original set of chairs; they are not matched.
