Description

Here we have a beautiful Victorian beech and Elm rocking chair c1860 with fantastic colour and patina. This rocking chair is almost certainly from the Buckinghamshire region denoted by the turned roundel in the back splat. there are lathes in the back with turned tops underside of the top rail. The central splat is exquisitely shaped and leads to a beautifully shaped Elm seat. There are nicely shaped arms and fantastic turned arm supports on with a very old repair. The legs are strong baluster shaped with a bouble H stretcher and strong original rocking rails. A fantastic chair which is very comfortable and in excellent retail condition.
