Chairs Pair of Victorian Inlaid Solid Rosewood C1880

Here we have a beautiful pair of bedroom or parlour chairs dating from c1880. The chairs are made from solid Rosewood and are heavy for their size. The backs are exquisitely inlaid with I---y and Satinwood. The central splat has fantastic inlaid decoration with carved spandrels to the top and bottom. My upholsterer has made an excellent job of re upholstering the over stuffed seats in a traditional subtle gold and red ground fabric of super quality with double piping to the edge. The legs are are exquisite both in shape and execution with Box wood strung lines on the vertical taper. As you will appreciate it is rare to find a pair and especially a pair of this quality being solid Rosewood these chairs would have been expensive when new.
