Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The stepped geometric silhouette comprises an upper cabinet with open doors revealing a mirrored interior, shelving and cocktail stick holders above a pull-out mirrored serving tray. Flanking the centre are glazed and etched doors and sides with three glass shelves each, while the lower central section contains an etched and glazed two-door cupboard with a mirrored interior above a bottle and glassware storage cupboard. The cabinet stands 172.3 cm high, 153 cm wide and 41 cm deep. In a modern home, this drinks cabinet serves as a sophisticated focal point in a living room, dining room or home bar area. The mirrored surfaces, glass shelving and etched panels provide ample display space for glassware and bottles while maintaining the distinctive glamour of the period style.

FAQs

Art Deco cocktail cabinets emerged in the 1920s and 1930s as entertaining at home became popular. They are characterised by bold geometric shapes, luxurious wood veneers like burr walnut, mirrored interiors, and specialized compartments for glassware and bar tools.

Makers during the Art Deco era frequently utilized highly figured wood veneers such as burr walnut, maple, and rosewood, paired with chrome hardware, peach or clear mirrored glass, and etched glass panels.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct construction methods such as dovetail joints, original brass or chrome fittings, heavy glass shelving, and natural age-related patination or fine crazing to the original lacquer finish.

An Art Deco cabinet serves as a focal point in a dining room, living space, or wide hallway. Balance its warm wood tones by pairing it with clean-lined neutral walls, minimalist ambient lighting, and vintage glassware.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth and apply high-quality beeswax sparingly to protect the wood veneer. Use a specialized glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than directly onto mirrored surfaces to prevent moisture edge-damage.
