Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of Sheraton style bedside cabinets dates from 1910 and uses mahogany, satinwood and marquetry in warm brown tones. Each piece has a rectangular top, a single panel cupboard door with a small keyhole escutcheon, and slender square tapered legs. The cabinet surfaces display floral marquetry, string inlay, and light wood banding around the edges. These tall, slim cabinets measure 76 cm high, 39 cm wide, and 38 cm deep. In a home today, these bedside cabinets provide practical storage beside a bed in a bedroom. They can also function as small lamp tables or side tables in a living room, hallway, or study. The compact footprint makes them suitable for smaller spaces where surface space and enclosed storage are needed.

FAQs

Sheraton style furniture, originating in late 18th-century England, is defined by Neoclassical restraint, slender proportions, straight lines, tapered legs, and refined decorative wood veneers or marquetry.

These cabinets traditionally utilise mahogany or satinwood frames adorned with contrasting timber inlays, such as boxwood or rosewood, arranged in delicate floral or geometric motifs.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, original oak or pine secondary woods, hand-planed surfaces, and natural age-related patina on both timber and brass hardware.

Their slim profile and elegant proportions allow them to serve as sophisticated nightstands alongside contemporary upholstered beds or as narrow side tables in living room alcoves.

Preserve veneered wood surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, applying natural beeswax occasionally, and placing the furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
