A Japanese parquetry kodansu (table top cabinet), late Meiji to early Taisho period, finely crafted with geometric yosegi marquetry and lacquered doors inlaid with delicate mother-of-pearl decoration. The twin doors open to reveal a fitted interior of six small drawers, each with original metal pulls, above a pair of exterior drawers and a long drawer to the base. The cabinet retains its decorative metal corner mounts and a red silk tassel to the door handle.
