This is a super quality Japanese Meiji Kutani vase with excellent detail and design dating from around 1870.
The tall vase is in perfect condition with no damage or restoration and has delightful colours and a great appeal.
The vase has a fabulous golden Asiatic pheasant with spread wings to the body, framing the large central cartouche scene with beautiful Japanese Geisha in full costume in a lovely rural setting.
The gilding is a real delight with crisp detail and typical Greek key motifs to the stepped foot base.
The reverse is equally decorated with large golden pheasant framing the scene beneath of birds and pheasant in flight.
The neck is boldly painted in colourful butterflies on an ironstone and gilded ground.
This is a fine piece in excellent condition and is signed to the base by the artist.
The vase is a good size measuring 40 cms high and 18 cms wide.
