ANTIQUE #SA1217034

A Pair Of Small Late 19th Century Girandoles, In The Manner Of Cottier & Co.

£125    $169    €147
Designed and made in the late 19th century to support a candlestick, the mirror is used to reflect the light back into the room.

Although with some losses this pair of girandoles have been made by a good firm of cabinet makers. The simple design is well considered and the girondoles are made from mahogany rather than pine.

The famous firm of Cottier & Co. has to be in the frame as the maker. Founded by Daniel Cottier the firm had premises in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and New York.

The mirror on the left is had more wear to both the frame and plate. The right hand mirror retains the moulding below the crest which is currently detached, see images.
