Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The 80cm tall, gilded mirror with a decorative flower basket pediment top dates to circa 1790, evidenced by the aged back, small gilding chips that reveal the gesso, red ochre or stucco plaster beneath, the wood panel applied to the back of the plate is later.
A considerably attractive and versatile antique mirror that can complement a day or bedroom, hallway or bathroom etc..,
