19thc French Low Back Chair, with Gilt Finish

A 19thc decorative French low back armchair with a gilt finish, possibly a bedroom chair.

This piece has a shaped back rail carved with a leaf decoration with a bow detail at the top. This leads down to the scroll shaped arms.

The seat rail is also gilded wood & has a carved decoration all round.

The legs are turned & fluted & the frame is very sound.

The upholstery is a silk flower & stripe pattern and will probably need replacing due to slight water damage to the cloth on the seat area.
