Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Vernis Martin vitrine is a French display cabinet featuring lacquered timber panels painted in the 18th-century style of Parisian artisans Guillaume and Etienne-Simon Martin, usually framed with cast gilt-bronze mounts and glazed doors.

These cabinets are typically constructed with a kingwood or rosewood veneer carcass, cast gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts, hand-painted varnished panels, curved glass, and silk or velvet interior lining.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut timber joinery, cast gilt-metal mounts with natural age oxidisation, hand-painted oil scene panels depicting pastoral subjects, and hand-formed serpentine glass.

Position the cabinet against a neutral wall in a living room, hallway, or dining space as a focal point, using the interior shelves to hold ceramics, glass, or curated items.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and avoid chemical polished. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber movement, lacquer cracking, or fading.
