This French four-glass mantel clock dates from the late 19th century around 1890. The piece comprises a rectangular gilt-brass case housing thick bevelled glass panels on all sides, a white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and floral swags, a decorative cast bezel, and a visible mercury pendulum with multiple cylinders suspended below. Blued steel hands indicate the time, while the heavy brass frame sits on a stepped plinth base with bracket feet and stepped mouldings to the top and bottom. Samuel Marti produced the movement and Tiffany retailed it, stamping the back accordingly.
