This is a top-quality antique English Chippendale wingback chair, constructed in the Victorian period circa 1860, with mahogany legs, in excellent condition. ...ith a heavy-duty beech frame; with sturdy springs to the seat frame; upholstered with horse hair and Dacron fillings. The frame has been upholstered to the calico stage, allowing the customer to decide and fit their own top fabric.
Featuring a serpentine top rail, striking shaped wings and splayed arms, set above a sprung seat; which is extremely comfortable to sit in. The underside of the wing chair has been finished with a traditional hessian. The Chippendale wingback chair is raised on well-pronounced claw and ball feet, decorated with acanthus leaf carvings at the knees and splayed legs at the rear. The claw and ball front feet feature the original castors.
The advertised price does not include the labour cost of upholstering the chair in the customers’ top fabric. If you would like us to upholster the chair in your choice of top fabric, please contact us for a quote (we will confirm how many metres of material is required, which will depend on the pattern repeat).

This antique Chippendale style armchair is constructed with a heavy-duty beech frame; with sturdy springs to the seat frame; upholstered with horse hair and Dacron fillings; therefore, the antique armchair is extremely comfortable to sit on. The mahogany legs retain the original polish and patination; the front legs also retain the original castors. This mahogany win chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
