A Mid Victorian Carved Giltwood Overmantle Mirror

Description

Circa 1870. A Mid Victorian carved giltwood overmantle mirror with an architectural pediment surmounted with foliate carving. The triangular frieze with a stylish top border and decorative mouldings to the centre. The frame retains its original mirror plate, which is in excellent condition, surrounded by a simple gilded slip. The sides, with scrolled decoration with small capitals, with scrolling ends and rectangular flower heads to the base.
