This is a very rare Victorian bamboo corner armchair of aesthetic design by James Shoolbred, Tottenham Court Road, London. The piece dates from around 1890 and is in the classic aesthetic taste with black lacquered and gilt fan shaped splats, burr wood terminals, and the seat upholstered in leaf design woolwork tapestry.
A really stylish and rare classic aesthetic piece in great original condition and still retaining its manufacturers label to the underside.
The chair measures 94 cms high by 70 cms wide by 60 deep. The seat height is 43 cms.
(The cabinet shown in the last photo is also currently in stock.)
