Lee Hawkins Antiques & Interiors has dated this Victorian Inlaid Display Cabinet to the 19th Century.

The figured mahogany is enlivened by delicate floral and scrolling foliate inlay across the upper frieze and surrounding framework. Its decorative treatment is in the manner of Edwards & Roberts; it is offered on that stylistic basis, rather than as a confirmed example by the maker.

A central glazed door is flanked by arched glazed sections, with turned columns adding depth and definition to the façade. Glazed sides allow the contents to be viewed from different angles, while the gold-toned interior provides a contrasting backdrop for porcelain, glass or a carefully arranged collection.

The cabinet stands on turned supports joined by a shaped undertier shelf, giving it an elegant, open appearance and providing additional space for display.
Well suited to a sitting room, dining room or entrance hall, this is a distinctive Victorian cabinet combining useful display space with finely worked decorative detail.
