Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1910s.
French, circa 1910
Upholstered in rich, aged brown leather with decorative brass stud work.

Each chair features an attractively shaped back with a gentle scrolled lip to the top and elegantly out-swept arms. The chairs rest upon finely carved front feet with inset castors, combining elegance with practicality.

The slightly larger ‘his’ chair and the more compact ‘hers’ version create a charming and well-balanced pairing — a rare and evocative example of early 20th-century French design.
Both retain their original horsehair filling and exhibit natural, honest wear consistent with age, with no tears to the leather. The seat cushions have been professionally reupholstered in a quality forest green velvet, perfectly complementing the warm tones of the aged leather. Ladies chair is slightly shallower at 78cm deep. Seat height roughly 45cm.
