Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

An Edwardian mantel clock is a timepiece produced during the Edwardian era, typically featuring refined wood veneers, delicate stringing, and classic white enamel dials influenced by late-period revival styles and arts and crafts movements.

These clocks are generally constructed from a softwood or hardwood base carcass, heavily veneered in figured mahogany, walnut, or satinwood, often adorned with contrasting boxwood or ebony stringing and marquetry inlay.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct joinery, hand-painted or paper dials under convex glass bezels, mechanical spring-driven movements, and natural ageing of the wood and brass components without modern synthetic adhesives.

Placement on a neutral mantelpiece or a dark wood console table allows the rich tones and intricate marquetry to serve as a sophisticated focal point, contrasting against minimalist contemporary surroundings.

Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations to prevent wood cracking and veneer lifting. Clean the timber surface gently with a dry, soft cloth and have the mechanical movement serviced periodically by a professional horologist.
