This Edwardian mantel clock exhibits a warm brown walnut case, standing 41 cm high, 22 cm wide and 15 cm deep. The architectural design incorporates a moulded plinth base, a stepped top cornice and flanking bobbin-turned side columns with beaded spindle turnings. A cream-coloured dial displays black Roman numerals alongside an outer circle of smaller calendar day digits running from one to twenty-six, operated by visible brass hands and a central red indicator hand. Below the clock face, a vertical glass inspection window set within the timber door reveals a circular brass pendulum suspended inside. Suitable for domestic placement in a gentleman's library, study or living room, the piece perches upon a mantelpiece, shelf or tabletop.
