This traditional English mantel clock from the 1960s period is constructed from warm brown burr walnut with a clear glass viewing panel and brass hardware. The rectangular case sits upon four small round brass feet and displays stepped architectural mouldings framing the arched face, topped with an ornate loop carrying handle. The dial face incorporates decorative brass spandrels, a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, an engraved center, and a Tempus Fugit dial boss at the top center. The 8 day mechanical movement operates with visible winding holes. The physical dimensions measure 26 cm high by 17.5 cm wide and 11.5 cm deep. Traditional mantel clocks of this type suit placement on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or desk within a study, living room, or gentleman's library. The compact proportions allow placement in smaller spaces while providing a functional timepiece.

Originally created in the late 17th century to mount on a matching wall bracket, a bracket clock is a compact portable timepiece featuring a wooden case, brass movement, and a carrying handle on top.

English bracket clocks are traditionally constructed with hardwood cases veneered in woods such as burr walnut or mahogany, paired with brass movements, cast brass corner spandrels, and silvered chapter rings.

An authentic Elliott clock usually displays the maker signature Elliott London on the dial or movement face, accompanied by heavy brass clockwork, precise engraving, and a serial number stamped on the back plate.

A wooden bracket clock works as a focal piece when placed on a fireplace mantelpiece, styled alongside modern ceramics on a console table, or positioned within a curated bookshelf display.

Keep the clock situated away from direct heat and damp environments to prevent wood movement, dust the case gently with a soft cloth, and have the internal mechanism serviced by a horologist every five to seven years.
