Victorian Mahogany Desk Chair

19th century
Description

A good quality mahogany desk chair dating from the mid 19th Century. It has a thick saddle shaped seat with curving arms and a beautifully upholstered leather back with buttoned detail. It stands on turned legs with brass castors joined by a crinoline stretcher.

The chair is in excellent condition and has developed a lovely rich patina. It has been polished and the back has been reupholstered in a lovely tan leather. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental and it is strong and sturdy. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.

The chair is a good large size and very comfortable to sit in. It stands approximately 39" (99cm) high, 23" (59cm) deep and is 23 1/2" (60cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 18" (46cm) high.
