Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
A fine quality George 111 mahogany elbow arm elbow or reading chair of elegant proportions and exquisite design, a Chippendale style featuring elements traditional of the period with top rail and splat, 19th century needlepoint tapestry seat.
The seat has some distress and wear to its sides and the buyer may wish to repair, replace or enjoy as it is with hessian and horse hair beneath. The underside webbing straps have become loose and buyer may want to repair ir replace, otherwise immediately ready for upholstery.

We are presently selling the chair as it is but, we may end listing and consign to our workshop to have the webbing straps repaired but until then, available.
