Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The silvered dial is in excellent original condition.

In the lower corners, the dial is decorated with deep hand engraved scroll work.
The case of this beautiful small clock is lovely. It is veneered in mahogany and decorated with hand painted, brightly coloured, raised lacquer panels with people, landscapes and birds all within hand painted gilt boarders which decorate the front top and sides.

The clock stands on four brass bun feet, and the pediment of the clock is finished with an ornate gilt brass beaded finial.
The clock is wound and regulated from the rear, accessed through a hinged door with a brass catch. The clock has its original steel key.

This fine timepiece is in good working order and was recently serviced by its previous owner, and on test keeps good time.
The beautiful case, in my opinion, is in very good condition but shows some age related wear and marks.
