Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

The gracefully scrolled arms are a particularly attractive feature, enhancing the refined silhouette. The chair stands on beautifully aged giltwood legs, connected by an exceptionally decorative serpentine X-stretcher — richly carved and full of character, it adds a sculptural quality to the base of the chair.

While the piece most likely dates to the 18th century, it is crafted in the earlier late 17th century style.
The fabric is in good overall condition, with just a few small marks and no rips or tears. The giltwood and gesso legs show wear consistent with age; notably, the front right leg has a loss to the decorative carving at the knee as per the photos.
We believe these signs of age only add to its authentic country house charm.
Seat height is roughly 50cm.
