Regency Gilded Overmantle Mirror C.1830

19th century
Description

Early 19th.c. English Regency era giltwood and gesso overmantle mirror c.1830. 45" x 22½" mirror plate within a gilded wooden frame. Decorated with turned half columns with moulded gesso acanthus leaf capitals and with gesso flower heads to the top corners. Rounded corners to the top of the mirror, moulded bottom edge to the frame with a reeded and ebonised trim. Missing a portion of gesso to the right hand flower head and with some wear to the original gilding. Otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
